Dr. Mindy Cassel: Your Mission Drives Your Success

LIVELIHOOD show

Summary: Many people enter the world of entrepreneurship in search of financial success. Psychotherapist and social entrepreneur Mindy Cassel had an entirely different purpose when she founded the Children’s Bereavement Center with her partner Dr. Carol Burns. She wanted to help children struggling with grief, and to provide a way to provide those services on an ongoing basis without cost to the participants. “When we started out, we felt that these services should be free of charge”, she explains, “Grieving people are often in the worst part of their lives, a critical juncture where they often don’t know their financial situation,” Mindy says in her interview. She concentrated on her mission, to provide solace and healing to young people experiencing tragic loss. Mindy enlisted partners, sponsors and underwriters to fulfill this vision. She discusses her experience as an unexpected social entrepreneur in an interview with ENTREPRENEURradio’s “Inside The Entrepreneurial Mind”. Dr. Mindy Cassel created a self-sustaining not-for-profit built on partnerships rather than charity. Who are your natural partners for joining forces to fulfill a shared vision?
