When he wakes Hiller's 13-year-old daughter, pandemonium erupts and before the chaos subsides, Hiller lay dead at the bottom of the stairs. In breaking into the house, Thomas Jennings leaves his left palm print in a freshly-painted porch rail. Those prints would be the first ever admitted into evidence in a court of law.
