Is USPSA/IPSC Production Division the new Race Division? Is That a Problem?

Summary: Sven in Sweden sent in a question for today's Q&A podcast. He emailed his question to podcast@triangletactical.net. Hello Luke and Ben, I listen to your podcast while driving to and from work here in cold and rainy Sweden and really enjoy the topics dicussed in your no-nonsense manner. I compete in IPSC Production division and have been thinking about something for a little while. Is Production division becoming the new race division? When introduced, Production was supposed to cater to non-race, duty type guns like Glocks, SIGs and so forth but lately the division has been dominated by for-production-built guns like Shadows and Stock 2s that almost are Limited/Standard type guns. What do you think of this development? Would you like to change anything in Production or do you think that this trend doesn't really matter since at the end of the day match outcome is skill, not gear, based? Keep it up and have a good one! /Sven This episode was sponsored by The Blue Bullets.
