Seesaw | Digital Portfolios for Young Students

The TeacherCast App Spotlight show

Summary: Jeff sits down with Carl and Zack from Seesaw to discuss how students are creating digital portfolios in grades K-3 using their iPads and digital creativity.
About Seesaw
Seesaw is a student-driven digital portfolio that empowers students as young as 5 to showcase what they are learning at school. Seesaw seamlessly organizes students’ digital and physical work in one place, making it easy for teachers to refer back to for assessment or parent-teacher conferences. Seesaw also facilitates parent communication with real-time notifications, giving parents a glimpse of their child’s day and an opportunity to support learning at home.
Links of interest

Seesaw website: http://web.seesaw.me/
Seesaw Teacher Resource Center: http://help.seesaw.me/hc/en-us
Seesaw Twitter: https://twitter.com/seesawedu

About our Guests
Carl Sjogreen is the co-founder of Seesaw. Previously Carl led product teams for Google (where he built Google Calendar) and Facebook (where he led the mobile product team). Carl has had a passion for teaching his entire life, tutoring in middle and high school, serving as a teaching assistant for 4 different Computer Science classes while an undergraduate at Harvard, and as a Computer Science lecturer at Harvard Extension school. Carl’s two kids, Lily (6) and Charlie (4) were Seesaw’s first beta testers.

Zack Linson works with East Noble School Corporation in NE Indiana, which has been recognized by the Department of Education as a Future Ready district, 1 of 100 in the country.
