Summary: This weekend, Glen responds to Obama’s State of the Union Address with some specific thoughts on raising the minimum wage, the spread of Islamic terror around the world, and the economic effects of raising tax rates. Glen talks with Paul Kengor (Executive Director of the Center for Vision and Values) about the history of Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger, and the March for Life rally in Washington D.C.  Glen also talks with Matt Brouillette (President and CEO of the Commonwealth Foundation) about Democrat Governor Tom Wolf’s Inauguration speech, and the policies that will enable Pennsylvanians to be successful and thrive. Glen also talks with Bob Fragasso (Chairman and CEO of Fragasso Financial Advisors) about the economy and investment markets moving in to 2015.  Finally, Glen interviews Ed Stack (CEO of Dick’s Sporting Goods) about entrepreneurship.  Ed describes how he took two bait and tackle stores in upstate New York, and grew them into a national chain with more than 500 stores nation wide.   Glen Meakem is a successful technology entrepreneur, venture capitalist, and conservative talk radio show host, who offers information and insights on how individuals, our states, and our nation can be more successful. Glen’s unique perspective has been shaped by his experiences as founder, chairman and CEO of the B2B internet success Freemarkets Inc – which he founded in 1995, took public in 1999, and sold to Ariba in 2004. In 2006, Glen co-founded Meakem Becker Venture Capital, a firm that invests in early stage start up companies.  More recently, Glen has founded and is the Chief Executive Officer of a new internet company calledForever.com.  Concerned about the liberal political agenda that had gripped the United States and his home state of Pennsylvania, Glen launched the radio program, “Glen Meakem on the Weekend” in 2008. Glen served as an officer in the United States Army Reserve and is a veteran of the First Gulf War. He earned his undergraduate degree from Harvard and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
