No Excuses.” Matt McDowell is the Chief of Training for the North Charleston Fire Department (SC), Instructor for the South Carolina Fire Academy, President of the Lowcountry FOOLS and Owner of Safe Firefighter, LLC. He holds a degree in Fire Administration and has previously served as Captain with the Bluffton Township Fire District (SC), Training Officer for the Hardeeville Fire Department (SC) and Firefighter for the Hyattsville Volunteer Fire Department in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
