Summary: Natural remedies such as essential oils can complement your weight loss plan.  Essential oils are the natural aromatic compounds found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants.  According to the The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, aromatherapy may be used as a form of supportive care to improve quality of life and reduce stress and anxiety. It’s postulated that when we inhale the fragrance of an essential oil, the odor molecules travel up the nose to the olfactory membranes, stimulating the olfactory bulb in the brain. The olfactory bulb then sends signals to your amygdala (your "emotion center") and other parts of the limbic system of your brain to release hormones and other neurochemicals that can affect our mood and emotions.
