Podcast Episode 006: Traveling with Reporter Melissa Hellmann

Go and Glow! with Natasha Cole show

Summary: Hey Glowers, Today's podcast episode is an interview with San Francisco based reporter and journalist, Melissa Hellmann, who reports on news, arts, culture, health, education, politics and design, and who has traveled to over 20 countries! Melissa is a former colleague of mine from when I lived and worked in Shanghai, and at the time of this interview she's living in Hong Kong and interning for TIME Asia and reporting on Hong Kong-China relations and international affairs. In our interview, she talks about the cool stories she's worked on, some awesome backpacking-in-India tales and other traveling experiences, and the importance of chasing her dreams and having the courage to change careers to work in her passion. A great quote from Melissa in regards to working on her craft and interning before she had her dream job was, "I didn't want to spend my entire day doing something that I wasn't especially interested in, so I needed to have a few hours in the day to do something I was really proud of." And a great jewel about not giving up after she made some mistakes was, "You have to fail to realize what you're capable of doing better."
