Summary: Canine infectious hepatitis is caused by infection of the liver of dogs with a virus called adenovirus type I.  This dangerous disease is very contagious and directly attacks the liver, as well as leads to complications and/or opportunistic infections in other organ systems of dogs.  Luckily, it is very preventable. Learn more about canine infectious hepatitis, how to prevent it most importantly, but also how to recognize disease and know when/how to act.  Please participate in the show!  You may send e-mail comments or questions for Dr. Roger to address on the show at: comments@web-dvm.net.
