Summary: Helping Kids in Crisis: Managing Psychiatric Emergencies in Children and Adolescents by Fadi Haddad, M.D., and Ruth Gerson, M.D.- American Psychiatric Publishing. Fadi Haddad, MD, is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychiatry at the NYU School of Medicine. There, he has taught and supervised adult psychiatry residents as well as child psychiatry fellows. Additionally, he has provided clinical care in multiple emergency settings. Dr. Haddad is also one of the founders and the first director of the only Children Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program in NY state. Dr. Haddad has developed a special interest in working with adoptive children and their parents. He assisted in the launch of the New York branch of the Center for Family Development where heis currently acting as Medical Director. The mission of the Center is to provide attachment-focused treatment for adopted children and their families.  Ruth Gerson, MD, is the Director of the Children's Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CCPEP) at Bellevue Hospital Center and a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.  Dr. Gerson has a particular interest in program development, systems of care and outcomes research with traumatized youth, and social/emotional development.
