Johanna and Kacy, Week Two

Healing Your Life With Dr. Chris Michaels show

Summary: Last week we met two new guests on Healing Your Life with Dr. Chris. We introduced Kacy, a first time guest to the show, and Johanna, who has been with us previously. Kacy and her husband have a dream of opening a facility in Kansas City designed to assist special needs children and their families. This is a vision that both exhilarates and terrifies her. They are parents to two wonderful children, their oldest being a special needs daughter and their youngest, a son. Through the last few years since their daughter's birth, their lives have changed completely. What they discovered is that Kansas City is ill-equipped to help and support a family with the deluge of information and decisions that must be made in their situation. Many couples who deliver a special needs child will separate from the stress caused to their marriage or relationship. And beyond the counseling they will require, the day-to-day struggles they will face, there is the financial responsibility that follows. The couple envisions establishing a location for these children and their families that will supply necessary counseling, information. and support. Johanna has come back to the show looking to end her long struggle with addiction. She can cover it up, disguise it, and deny it but the truth is she is an addict. She is uncomfortable in her own skin and often ashamed of the behaviors she repeats. She has had success healing pieces and parts of her life, but she feels ready to face her demon and be made whole again. She wants to love herself, her life, and the legacy she will leave to her child. She is coming to Dr. Chris for the third time looking for the truth and encouragement to finally relegate her disease to her past. Join us to hear Kacy's vision unfold and Johanna's progress finding a support group she can commit to. Dr. Chris will be there for them with his unwavering belief that Spirit provides us all with the ability to heal any situation in our lives.
