Satan waited until the opportune time in getting them to take their eyes off Jesus and to reject His words. REMEMBER, Jesus had given His disciples the instruction to go on over to the other side of the sea, but they choose instead to believe the raging and boisterous winds. This resulted in them being tormented by the spirits of fear and loneliness.
