He served as both a student assistant and a full-time assistant working for a well-recognized pioneer of the Strength and Conditioning profession, Boyd Epley; whom he considers a great mentor. At Nebraska, Jost earned his bachelors degree in exercise science with an emphasis in strength and conditioning in 1990, and his masters in Education Administration with an emphasis in post-secondary athletic administration in 1994.In 1994, Coach Jost was hired as the first Head Strength and Conditioning Coach at Holy Cross, where from the ground up, he developed and successfully implemented a comprehensive program, servicing all 23 athletic department teams.In 1996, Jost accepted the opportunity to become the Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for Southern Methodist University. At SMU, he was responsible for the development and the hands on administering of individualized programs for over 350 athletes and 18 teams. While at SMU he planned and designed a brand new 10,000 Square Ft.
