Oh goodness.   Mark: hi this is Mark Allen 6 time Ironman Triathlon World Champion in Hawaii and you are listening to Triathlon Research Radio.   Sam: Hello listener my name is Sam Cook the founder of Triathlon Research and I’m going to be your host today’s show we have a extra special guest today 6 time Ironman World Champion Mark Allen and for any of you have been in this sport any length of time you must’ve read about Mark Allen and his famous battles with Dave Scott the other only 6 time male Ironman World Champion and also Mark was recently voted I think by ESPN the top Endurance Sport Athlete of all time which is quite a prestigious honour given the over 100 years of Olympic history and all the people that he considered against. So the topic for today’s show you’ve been listening Suzanne Atkinson my co-host is doing a lot of, she’s the coach and I am not I’m just the big fan of the triathlon as a triathlete and also just someone who is interested in the role of sport and the larger life in terms of society, people’s personal life and what it does to them. So what I’m going to cover today is Mark Allen fascinating subject for me and I had a chance to sit down with Mark about a month ago and do an interview for him with the project on the meaning to the sport triathlon with Endurance Films and I thought it would be really interesting to bring him on the show and talk about the broader contexts for triathlon and how you can use triathlon improve your life for all. I think you’d all agree if you’ve been in the sport for any length of time triathlon can be tremendously beneficial to you and your life but also if you treated the wrong way just like any drug or anything like that alcohol not in moderation triathlon could be really destructive in your life so I want to kind of a explore those different themes of triathlon with Mark Allen. So Mark Allen welcome to the show today.   Mark: great happy to be here with you guys.
