In the Groove, Jazz and Beyond show

Summary: This podcast will take you back to the heady days of 70s Jazz/Rock Fusion as well as some of the progressive rock that is inspired by jazz. It all starts with a classic Santana track and the funk of TOP. Herbie Hancock took that funk sound and added his jazzy keyboard chops on the Fender Rhodes. Larry Coryell shows how fusion is done with guitar jams. Chick took that latin bossa beat and electrified it on his standard, Spain. The rock group War fused funk, R&B and jazz. Weather Report recorded some landmark albums with their own unique electronic sound. The set ends with two great guitarists of that era, John McLaughlin and George Benson, with different approaches to their axe.
