I'd say no other country has as many vending machines as Japan. Within less than a mile distance you can find one vending machine after another for drinks or packs of cigarettes. Also, some vending machines let you control the amount of sugar and cream in your coffee. Some machines tells you what's being done while making coffee inside, so you don't get bored waiting for the drink to come out. For cup ramen vending machines you can add hot water on the spot. In country side, there are vending machines that sell eggs. If you pay attention, you will find so many things sold in the vending machines. I found a vending machine for travel insurance at the airport. The vending machines are evolving fast. In Kanto and some areas there are some vending machines that actually talk to people. While trying to decide which drink to get, the machine starts talking to you. And yes, they talk in the dialect from where they are located, such as "Thank you!" or "I'm sorry I don't have any change." and they are very friendly. I found that very interesting. Before too long these machines may start advertising their products to people passing in front of them, "Hey lady, I have a ice cold delicious juice for you! Why don't you stop by and get one?"
