You can get paid on a monthly basis, or you can get paid when you release content. There are people making some pretty decent cash. You can specify different rewards for different donation amounts. These can be serious or comical. I was amazed at some of the amounts that people are pulling in. They take 8% of the donation and you get paid via paypal (I'm not sure if you have to pay paypal fees).
