#147 - Ryan and Leah: At the Movies

Positively Nerdy show

Summary: Welcome to Positively Nerdy! It’s time to once again discuss all things cinematic with the latest episode of Ryan and Leah: At the Movies! This time around we’re talking about a variety of new trailer (including, finally, Amazing Spider-Man 2) as well as The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and a brief chat on our favorite Christmas movies! Here’s what awaits you in this week’s episode: This time we don’t have to fake our reactions to the trailer for Amazing Spider-Man 2. Ryan and Leah react and Ryan rambles and rambles…and rambles about Spider-Man and more. The trailer for Jupiter Ascending, the new film from the Wachowskis, is out and promises plenty of visual splendors. And Ryan appreciates any new science fiction and Leah appreciates Channing Tatum. Speaking of Channing Tatum, the red band trailer for 22 Jump Street is here and despite his best efforts Ryan can’t stop laughing. The new Christopher Nolan film, Interstellar, has released a teaser. It’s not much but it’s enough to make Ryan and Leah curious, maybe even excited. And finally, our last trailer discussion is Godzilla’s new teaser trailer. How can anyone not be excited about the return of the King of the Monsters? Leah’s Cinematic Consultation this week is The Family Stone. It’s a film featuring a large and impressive cast that brilliantly captures the chaos of family get-togethers. Ryan and Leah saw The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. Neither Ryan nor Leah have read the book and both enjoyed the first Hobbit movie. What did they think? Did they like it? Hate it? Think it was too long? Or too convoluted? Yes and no. Who thought what, and why? You’ll have to tune in to find out! And to wrap up the last episode of 2013, Ryan and Leah take some time to discuss some of their favorite Christmas movies! We’ll be back next year with a special episode counting down our Top Ten movies of 2013. If you have a Top Ten list you’d like to share, please send it in and we’ll share on the episode along side our own! See you next year!
