Summary: Health care fraud perpetrators cost the Federal government and American tax payers billions of dollars each year. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services is now working with the Office of the Inspector General, the United States Attorney office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation to eliminate such fraudulent activity. This initiative is creating additional burdens on home health care companies, and therefore, they must be aware and prepared to handle the additional scrutiny.
