In her memoir, The Hands of War, she shares her harrowing, yet fascinating account of growing up Jewish under Hitler,and surviving Operation Gomorrah, 10 days and nights of relentless bombings by US and British Air Forces. As a teenager Marione emigrated to the US and having experienced racial discrimination in Europe became very active in the civil rights movement.
