#36 : A Few Filter Tips

The Martin Bailey Photography Podcast (Enhanced) show

Summary: In recent years, digital photography has done away with the necessity for some filters, such as daylight filters and warm-up filters etc as most colour correction is now taken care of much more easily by the White Balance feature on our cameras. Check out the Cokin filter systems here http://www.cokin.com/ or here http://www.cokin.co.uk. Here is the discussion I mentioned in which bksecret (Landon) raised some great tips for when using a Polarizer. http://www.martinbaileyphotography.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=684 And here is the topic on protector filters, discussing whether we even need them, and whether or not you should buy the best, or go for the cheapest you can, as these are sometimes a throw away item. http://www.martinbaileyphotography.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=677 I also mentioned using a PL filter to reduce the reflection in water in Podcast # 15. http://www.martinbaileyphotography.com/podcasts.php?dt=ti&ep=015#Ep015 Here's a link to the new Podcast "Light" page I mentioned at the end of this episode. Please check it out if you use a small form factor computer like a Pocket PC: http://www.martinbaileyphotography.com/pcl.php Please do take 5 minutes to complete the Listener's survey. You'll find a link and some reasons why I'm doing this here: http://www.martinbaileyphotography.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=549
