The fossil fuel boom underway in the United States has transformed the global energy landscape, with the U.S. poised to eclipse all other countries as the leading producer of oil and gas in the world in 2013. But according to a new report from the International Energy Agency, that dominance will be short lived and doesn’t mark an end to the Middle East’s 40-year-reign as the world’s energy leader.
