Talking Animals show

Summary: As a then-prelude to the Talking Animals Music Night–presenting 10 great bands performing animal songs, March 31 at New World Brewery in Tampa, the March 28 edition of “Talking Animals” featured folks from three of the bands as in-studio guests: Gracie Grieshop (leader of Sunset Bridge Band), Ricky Wilcox (leader of Ricky Wilcox & The Moonsnakes), and Mark Murphy (leader of Talk To Mark), joined by guest vocalist–& WMNF programmer–Scott Elliott, host of the All Souls edition of “It’s The Music.”      They each play an acoustic animal song–Ricky performs Buck Owens’ “I’ve Got A Tiger By The Tail,” Gracie does Miike Snow’s “Animal,” while Mark & Scott (with vocal help from everyone else in the studio, dubbed The Shock-Ettes) covered Peter Gabriel’s “Shock The Monkey.” They also discuss the animals currently living with them, what role animals played in their formative years, as well as animal issues and/or organization that are important to them, and more.
