Thanks again, Rae Ann. :) Jennifer Marie Morrison was born April 12, 1979 in Chicago, IL, and raised in Arlington Heights, IL. She is the oldest of three children with a sister, Julia, and a brother, Daniel. Her father, David L. Morrison, is a retired music teacher, and her mother, Judy Morrison, is also a retired teacher. Morrison attended South Middle School then graduated from Prospect High School in 1997 where her parents worked. She played clarinet in the school's marching band, sang in the choir, and was a cheerleader with the school's pep squad. By the time she was 18 years old, Morrison had been to Disneyworld with her family 27 times, appropriate for someone who would one day play the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming. After high school, Morrison attended Loyola University in Chicago where she majored in Theatre and minored in English, graduating in 2000. She then studied with the Steppenwolf Theatre Company before moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film and television. Morrison began her career as a child model, appearing in print advertisements for JC Penney and Montgomery Ward and commercials for Rice Krispies and Mondo. In May of 1992, she was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated for Kids with basketball star Michael Jordan. In 1994, Morrison got her first motion picture role (billed as Jenny Morrison) as the daughter of Sharon Stone and Richard Gere in Intersection. However, Morrison did not come to world-wide fame until scoring the role of Dr. Allison Cameron on FOX’s medical drama House, M.D. in 2004. Morrison has also appeared in music videos for Nick Lachey ("Shut Up"), and The Donnas ("Too Bad about Your Girlfriend"). In 2007, she appeared as Kirce James in the video game Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars. In 2009, after her contract had not been renewed for House, Morrison was cast as Kate Keller, the mother of Helen Keller, in Broadway’s revival of The Miracle Worker which debuted in 2010. Other recent projects include the independent short sci-fi film Prodigal (2011, currently not released); the politically charged Knife Fight (to be released Nov. 2012) alongside Rob Lowe; Some Girls (post-production, release date unknown); and she is billed as the leading role in Event 15, which is slated to release in 2013. Flourish (2006) Review For the independent film Flourish, Morrison was cast in the lead role, co-executive produced, and also supplied the vocals for Andrew Kaiser’s musical score (the main title track can be heard here). Flourish is a mix of dark comedy and quirky drama. I must say it’s definitely not a family film due to the coarse language, but the way that language is used plays an important role in who Gaby (the narrator) is. This was a bit of a different role for Morrison that allowed her to showcase her acting chops and step away from the “girl-next-door” stereotype. For anyone who is a fan of Morrison’s work, I definitely recommend this film. Per IMDb: “From a psychiatric ward, tutor and proofreader Gaby Winters (Morrison) elaborately recounts an evening spent babysitting a 16 year old girl (Leighton Meester) – an evening that results in the girl’s disappearance. While Gaby’s story is recorded to video, she tells of her urgent attempts to relocate the missing teen before her parents return home. Gaby’s search is set to a tapestry of snaking subplots: the unlikely spy hunting down an envelope, the eloping girl he exploits, her doting mother, the military husband, his pious mistress, an abducted woman, and the ailing fiancé (Jesse Spencer) wandering around in a karate gi bent on beating a man he mostly-believes is banging his girl.
