(2013-09-01) Christ Must Be King in All Things

Audio Sancto show

Summary: Sermon titled "Christ Must Be King in All Things" given on Sunday September 1, 2013. Size: 4.5 MB; duration: 13:12. Just as the widow of Naim, through her tears, won the compassion of Christ to raise her son from the dead, so our Holy Mother the Church in sorrow pleads with Christ to raise her spiritual sons from the death of mortal sin. Allegorically, the Church Fathers saw in the son of the widow the state of the gentile nations before the time of Christ: just as the body of the dead son is lead to the sepulcher, men in the state of mortal sin are led to hell. This allegory is most fitting in our POST-Christian age, and of critical importance to faithful Christians. Even if we obtain the grace to be raised from the death of mortal sin, once we leave the Confessional we must encounter a godless world. Shed tears of repentance in order that Christ the King will touch modern mankind and raise us from the death of modernism and into his joyful service.
