Summary: Open Channel was proud to present the "So You Wanna Be a Filmmaker?" forum as a part of the 30th St Kilda Film Festival. This forum presented an insight into the realities of working in the industry, the highs and lows and real opportunities that exist for emerging and aspiring filmmakers. Moderated by Caroline Waters, a panel of working practitioners including Jonathan auf der Heide (writer / director Van Diemens Land), David Hawkins (Director and DOP of video content for VevaTV), Gretchen Thornburn (Sound Recordist Killer Elite), Julie Belle (past Head of Design at the ABC) and Daniel Schultheis (Open Channel) shared their experiences and advice in this practical session presented by Open Channel.
