Summary: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous speech during the March on Washington 50 years ago, in 1963. Beverly's guest, Alexis Scott, was just 14 at the time; she has had a front row seat, watching the Civil Rights Movement unfold in her own backyard. Her grandfather founded the Atlanta Daily World, the nation's first black-owned newspaper in the 20th century, in 1932. Alexis became publisher of the newspaper and has interviewed, or been on panels with, some of the top Civil Rights leaders of our time.
