Summary: Formed by four childhood friends some twenty years ago pop-punk band Jimmy Eat World first broke into the mainstream with its 2001 hit "The Middle" -- a song counted among Pitchfork's Top 500 Tracks of the 2000's and heralded as a kind of post-9/11 pop reassurance that "everything will be alright."
