Future of London's Podcast show

Summary: The riots of August 2011, which began in Tottenham and spread across London and the UK, were “arguably the worst bout of civil unrest in a generation,” (LSE/Guardian "Reading the Riots"). After major public investment in hard-hit areas and a flurry of commentary, research and proposals, there is a sense that the capital has moved on. But have we? and if so, in what ways? This second Living Legacies lecture explored the regeration legacy of the riots. The session was chaired by Brendon Walsh, Director of Regeneration for LB Hounslow (at Ealing during the riots), and was led by David Lammy, MP for Tottenham and author of "Out of the Ashes: Britain after the Riots" with responses from researcher Suzanne Hyde, voluntary sector leader Fitzroy Andrews, and Croydon BID chief executive Matthew Sims.
