Summary: East meets West in the band Minor Empire. The core members of the group -- guitarist Ozan Boz and vocalist Ozgu Ozman -- hail from Turkey, but are based in Toronto. And its songs -- many based on traditional Turkish folk tunes -- strike a balance between traditional and experimental, acoustic and electric, and between ecstasy and melancholy.
