Be More Productive Episode

Weekly Web Tools show

Summary: Today I have three free tools to help you be more productive. The first one is an add on for Chrome (Stay Focusd) the other is an app for iOs devices (30/30) and the last is Hoot Suite which was primarily a twitter client but now handles so much more from one interface. (http://www.lduhtrp.net/p979h48x20MPSQSRWUMOOPWSWTS) Stay Focucsd This is a cool tool that can help those who are struggling with self control. You can set a time of how long you can use websites on a blocked list, then once that time is up - no more (until a certain amount of productive time has been reached). It's pretty flexible. In the end it still boils down to you (as you can always pull up Firefox, etc). It is a fun tool to help you stay focused. 30/30 App for iOs This is like a to do list on steroids. The idea being 30 minutes of work followed by 30 minutes of rest. This helps you stay focused to get done in 30 minutes, and the 30 minute break gives your brain a break and you get to relax. You can set up your own intervals if you'd rather go 40/20, etc. You can have an extensive list of tasks. There is a slight learning curve due to its high rate of flexibility but its pretty easy to figure out. It then reminds you when its time to go on break etc. HootSuite Social Media Manager HootSuite was primarily a twitter tool. I looked at it a while back and was like "OK,,,." Now I started playign with it as I wanted a web based twitter tool and there are some really cool features in Hootsuite. You can manage twitter, facebook, google+, foursquare, and just about any other platform you can think of. You can schedule your posts ahead of time. It has a built in link shortener with link tracking. Its free (for the most part). You can run reports to measure your reach (mosts of these require the premium version which is only $9.99 a month) Check out this video below, or go sign up for a free account at hootsuite.com (http://www.awltovhc.com/image-2535497-10915008)
