Meet Loree Smith-Pope, Counselor

Summary: Loree Smith-Pope, founder and director of Changing Lives Counseling Service, was born in Pittsburgh. She brings clients more than 25 years of combined educational, clinical and supervisory experience. Ms. Smith-Pope attended Adrian College, in Adrian, Michigan, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and sociology. She subsequently served as a VISTA volunteer in Decatur, Alabama, and then worked in various programs throughout Pennsylvania involving at-risk, dual-diagnosed and substance-abuse adolescents. Later she graduated from Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia, earning a Master of Science degree with a concentration in marriage and family. Loree has held positions ranging from director of an outpatient mental health clinic, head of an intensive case-management program, to various clinical and supervisory positions working with the chronic mentally ill and substance-abuse populations. In addition, as a human resources manager, Loree designed specialized programs for staff development -- helping people realize and improve their own unique talents and skills, no matter what challenges they faced.
