Summary: Welcome to the first round of "The BBQ Round Table"...tonight I was joined by Kevin Bevington of HomeBBQ.com, Rod Gray from Pellet Envy and Jim Minion of Two Loose Screws BBQ. In a panel discussion, we talked about the bias that exists at barbecue competitions...specifically regarding how judges score on what they think it should be vs. adhering to the rules of the competition. We also explored the garnish issue and debated if garnish should be removed as a "optional" item in KCBS and be made either a requirement or remove it all together as they do in the Florida Barbecue Association.
