Summary: 1815 is an important year in our course, and indeed in modern European History. It’s important because 1815 saw the end of the era of Napoleon I, and in Italy, the ‘restoration’ of various ‘states’. In today’s podcast we’re going to look briefly at the importance of Napoleon’s occupation of Italy, and, when it was over, what ideas were driving the ‘restoration’, the settlement that Britain, Austria, Russia and Prussia brought to Italy in 1815.
