Summary: Movie: "Go Down, Death!" (1944) is based on the poem by James Weldon Johnson, and is the story of a bar owner who attempts to discredit the new preacher with whom he is feuding by framing him with a photo showing him drinking with women with bad reputations. This story is a morality tale and a classic example of a "race film" from the early 1940s.
