Summary: Well, well ...Good Afternoon, Freaks and Freakette's! After a nice week hiatus, it felt good to be back on deck last night playing some tunes that I've been dying to get down with. But, this isn't just about me, this is also about our guest, Jay Marks! Who undoubtedly made us shake, boogie, bounce ... and then some. For those of you not familiar, allow me: Jay (who I've nicknamed "Dr. Crunk J") has been keepin' his name in the ears of the underground since circa 2001 - when he emerged on the Birmingham (UK) masses, making 'em jack to his [now signature] Jackin', Deep Soulful, funked-out, and ALWAYS beatin' sets. Nowadays, you can find him playing alongside DJs like Sonny Fodera, JackinBox, Craig Hamilton, Gramophonedzie, Giom, and Phil Weeks to name a few. But it doesn't stop there ... 2011 saw him take his first steps into the production arena - cultivating, honing, and crafting his skills - and found his career kicking' the door down to 2012 with production & remixes coming from some of the industry's most heavy hitters. His current EP, tentatively titled "On The Spot", is set for release on 6th Sense Records soon, as are the following that you ought'a keep your ears out for this summer: "Fly High" EP on Dirty Monkey (remixes from Bryan Jones, Corduroy Mavereicks & Flapjackers), "Trailboss EP" on Lingo Rec., and in June he's dropping his "Angry Badger" EP on Beatdown Music (remixes offered up by 1200 Warriors and Sonny). Like I said, dude put the boot in 2012 and ain't gonna stop till he knows he made you bop, boogie, boompty .. aka Dance. And, Freaks, if I may say: I know you're going to be playing today's show a few times, just because it IS bus, train, or whip-worthy, mmmkay?
