Father Nicholas Dempsey was the presider. Mary was the cantor.  "When I became a man I put aside childish things." "…the greatest of these is love." "No prophet is welcome in their own land." Father Nick promoted the faith sharing groups for Lent, recommending that people either join one of the organized groups or start one of their own.  What does "prophet" mean? Someone who tells the future? In this homily, Father Nick taught that a prophet is someone prepared to witness to Jesus Christ and the values of the Gospel. We are all called to be prophets. Stand tall, and hold your head high. Father Nick discussed the book "Black Like Me" by John Howard Griffin in the context of being a prophet for truth and justice.  The prayer for the week was "Lord you are my rock and my fortress."
