Summary: The SILVERDOCS 2006 Charles Guggenheim Symposium Honoring Martin Scorsese Thursday, June 15, 2006 The Charles Guggenheim Symposium commemorates the legacy of four-time Academy Award-winner and Washington-area filmmaker Charles Guggenheim. This year, the Symposium celebrates the legendary MARTIN SCORSESE, one of America’s most distinguished filmmakers and a master of the documentary form. Following a series of excerpts from Scorsese’s documentaries, including MARTIN SCORSESE PRESENTS: THE BLUES; NO DIRECTION HOME: BOB DYLAN, and IL MIO VIAGGIO IN ITALIA, acclaimed independent filmmaker Jim Jarmusch will engaged Scorsese in a discussion about his documentary work.
