On this episode, we discuss keeping the love alive. The love, sex and marriage discussion we had last season was one of our most popular episodes. Clearly this topic is one we will have to keep updating. After all things change and people do too. During this last recording session, we are quiche and drank all the wine. All of it! We love sharing our every day discussions which sometimes include some heavy topics. This topic may be triggering for some so please keep that in mind. On today’s show, we address Raising Our Children in the Me Too Era. Yes it’s a heavy topic but it needs to be discussed especially in our communities where many acts of sexual violence get pushed under the rug or ignored including inside families. We discuss the canceling of R. Kelly, Bill Cosby and more. And go there on things like watching The Cosby Show versus listening to the music of R. Kelly. We touch on our own Me Too experiences and how they affect us in adult life and as moms. At the end of the day, we want to protect our daughters and our sons from the life altering harm sexual abuse causes. Let’s talk mamas.

“Happy Indulgences”. What does that term mean to you? In this episode the mamas discuss things that make them happy. Sometimes a hot cup of coffee is all a mama needs. Sometimes we need a little bit more. We share our current “happy indulgences” and some of the things on our happy indulgences wish list. Or is it our manifestation list? The Mama Tea Show Episode 7: Are Our Kids Privileged?   What do you consider privilege to be? In this episode we discuss what we think about our kids and “privilege”. While our kids are blessed to have access to certain things, is this really a privilege or enjoying life experiences? Do listen in and share your thoughts.

Episode 6: Raising Black Sons Yes the title says a lot in just a few words. This episode is a lengthy one but so important from beginning to the end. Are you raising a black son? Even if you’re not, this conversation is important for all moms, dads, educators, public servants and everyone in between who interacts with black boys and black men. And it’s just as important for those of us raising black girls too. And while it shouldn’t have to be said, this conversation needs to be heard by those of you would do not identify as a person of color as you will hopefully learn something that will help you tear down your own biases. Episode 5: Me Time & Mom Guilt Today’s discussion is all about taking me time and the mom guilt that comes with it for some of us. We all agree that amongst our mom friends, finding me time is often times like digging for treasure. And then when we find it and take it, the mom (and wife) guilt has no problem creeping right in. One of the mom’s on this panel feels no guilt about taking me time. We all want to be like her so cheers to finding and taking me time and leaving the guilt behind.  

Episode 4: On Finding Your People No man is an island. As women and moms we understand this quote like no other. Motherhood has a way of isolating you so the art of finding your people is definitely one to embrace. Sometimes your people find you but never be afraid to make that connection with someone knew. They may be just the person you need for the season you are in. In other words being on Team New Friends is a beautiful especially later on in life when forming friendships and bonds doesn’t come as easy. Go on and find your people.

The Mama Tea Episode 3: Sex & Marriage While this conversation does not go rated X, you definitely want to listen with headphones on or in a room alone. Today the mamas discuss sex and marriage.
