In 1982, 81 year old Bertha Hughes was found brutally murdered in her Salt Lake City home. Although neighbors reported a suspicious male in the area the day before, the trail went cold. Jason was well known in the Salt Lake area for his outgoing personality and long, thick, bright-red hair. After a vicious attack sent him to the hospital with serious head injuries, he wouldn't name his attacker and voluntarily left the hospital prematurely. In 1991, Bryan Ruff went missing from his security post at Kennecott Copper Mine. Suspicions started being directed towards a friend of his, Dale Bradley, after it surfaced that Bryan had an affair with Bradley's wife. Even after Bryan's body was found 2 years later, no arrests were made. That was until the murder of a wife and mother, Crystal Bradley, brought Dale Bradley back into the investigation of Bryan's death, leading to a conviction or murder. Austin Cox had recently gone through a divorce and was out for revenge on anyone he felt wronged him during the proceedings. Drunk and enraged, Cox took a shotgun with him to find and kill his ex-wife. In 1982, 17 year old Robby Peay was ordered to be housed at the Youth Diagnostic Center in Salt Lake City. When he and another boy ran away from the facility, his family expected to hear from him shortly after. In December of 2000, a motorist driving in Parley's Canyon spotted the body of 75 year old Herbert John Strehl. Strehl was a German immigrant and business owner in Salt Lake City. In 2000, a mystery caller phoned 911 stating they saw someone slip through the ice at Pineview Reservoir. Investigators found a vehicle at the dam belonging to Sheri Stark and a suicide note. As the investigation moved forward, detectives determined the mystery caller was Sheri herself.

After finishing an exam, college student Valaine Briggs walked out to her car, never to be seen again. After just a two days, her body was found nude with her ankles and wrists bound with her own clothing. Leads quickly dried up and no arrests have been made.
