The parent of a child with dyslexia describes participation in a research study conducted by the Institute for Learning & Brain Sciences at the University of Washington. The study examined growth in reading skills and white matter as a result of intensive reading intervention at Lindamood-Bell.

Now at Lindamood-Bell Academy, she is finally getting the reading intervention she needs, while progressing in a challenging school curriculum.
Patrick Donnelly received his B.A. in Child Development from Tufts University, focusing on dyslexia and the reading brain in the lab of Dr. Maryanne Wolf at the Center for Reading and Language Research. He discusses current projects at the lab focused on how targeted reading intervention prompts changes in the brains of children with dyslexia.
Kelly and Dan describe their son’s learning and the experience of having him participate in a University of Washington research study on dyslexia.
Tarra talks about how her 9-year-old’s self-esteem began to plummet as a result of his struggle with math. A learning ability evaluation revealed an underlying comprehension weakness was the root cause of the math difficulty. Mandy Melville is the parent of a child with dyslexia. During school holidays the family travelled from their home in Jamaica to receive instruction at the Lindamood-Bell Learning Center in Miami. From that point, Melville became determined to bring the learning programs used by Lindamood-Bell to Jamaica where more children could benefit.
