 BIA Ep. 83 - June Crootin' | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:46:31

The biggest month of Ohio State recruiting for this cycle is almost here with the NCAA allowing things to open up come June 1st and Ohio State has some epic recruiting weekends set up for the following several weeks. Commits, targets and just about everybody in the recruiting world will either be on campus or paying attention to what is happening with the Ohio State recruiting front. That means it is time to do one of our recruiting-only shows to try and put some things into perspective and that means that Joseph Hastings is joining Kevin Noon on the big show to talk mostly about the class of 2022 but also touch upon what is going on with 2023, a class that cannot officially visit but will be just as much in focus for the next several weeks.

BIA Ep. 82 - Putting On The LBs | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:26:58

BuckeyeGrove Instant Access (BIA) puts the linebackers in focus with a show dedicated 100-percent to the position. We are not asked about any other position going into the 2021 season than the LBs, where Ohio State loses its top four statistical linebackers from 2020. What is the future of the position and does a promised move to a “bullet” position change what the Buckeyes need and have to accomplish their goals? Who steps up from the current room, a room that is long on talent if short on experience? Plus, we talk the transfer portal as the rumors have moved off of one name and firmly on to another one as players are moving from one team to another. All of that and a whole lot more in this episode of the BIA. Don’t miss an episode.

 BIA Ep. 81 – Spring Forward | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:41:09

We have let the dust settle for a couple of weeks since the conclusion of the Ohio State spring practice window for football as Ryan Day’s squad had a chance to go through a full 15-practice regiment for the first time since 2019. With limited media access, a spring game that employed a ‘thud’ system of tackling and just the general nature of spring practice in general, it is not always easy to come out of March and April knowing what a team is going to be made of come September when the season starts but we have some good ideas and the overriding theme should be that the Buckeyes should be considered a heavy favorite in not only the Big Ten but also for making the four-team College Football Playoff field once again. Join Kevin Noon and Griffin Strom as they talk about the spring practice period that was, talk about several key positional groups and give their opinions on what we are not talking about enough now that we are in May.

BIA Ep. 80- Settling The Tab On The Draft | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:35:33

The 2021 NFL Draft is in the books and double-digit Buckeyes heard their names called including first-rounder Justin Fields. But it was not without its own drama for each and every player as some players slid a little further than expected, some came off the board quicker than expected and the real debate now rages over who had the best draft and who made good and bad decisions. We are talking about the recently completed draft in this edition of the BIA (BuckeyeGrove Instant Access) podcast as Kevin Noon and Griffin Strom look back at the seven rounds of action that saw dreams come true for 10 former Buckeyes. Plus, we are talking about the 2022 draft, and while that is still 350-plus days away, never too soon to start up that hype machine.

BIA Ep. 79- What To Make Of The Season? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:31:30

Buckeyes Basketball saw the season come to an end in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, a shock to anyone outside of the state of Oklahoma. But even with the bitter end to things, it was a season to remember, for the ups and for the downs. We are talking a little basketball with our great recruiting analyst, Jake Spegal, as we wrap up the Ohio State season, take a look at the ongoing NCAA Tournament and of course talk about what is next. The Buckeyes have added a new name to the upcoming roster and saw another familiar name opt for the portal. Plus, recruiting is still going on as the Buckeyes should have one spot to go before the season gets underway. Check out everything as we go full basketball in this edition of the BIA Podcast.

 BIA Ep. 78 – Tourney Time | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:44:18

Ohio State Buckeyes Basketball 2021 is in the Big Dance as the No. 2 seed in the South and will get things started later this week against Oral Roberts. But before we get too deep into tourney talk, let’s wrap up the recently completed Big Ten Tournament that saw the Buckeyes come oh-so-close to cutting down the nets, despite a slow start and finish in the championship game. In this episode of the BIA Podcast, Kevin Noon and Griffin Strom are talking about the B1G Tourney, as both had the chance firsthand to see what may go down as the best tournament in the history of the conference. And with the brackets out, we can’t ignore the madness of March, we look at Ohio State’s bracket as well as some of the other Big Ten teams and make our picks for the final four.

BIA Ep. 77 – Bennett Christian joins the show | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:31:20

In this episode of the BIA, we are joined by Ohio State class of 2022 tight end commit Bennett Christian as we talk about all things recruiting and a whole lot more. The Buckeyes picked up two very talented tight ends in this recruiting class and while there is a ways to go until National Signing Day for the class of 2022, there does not appear to be any second thoughts when it comes to Christian and the Buckeyes. What made the Buckeyes the choice for this talented player and what is his message to other players considering the Buckeyes? How good does it feel knowing that guys like Quinn Ewers and Caleb Burton are part of the same class? Is there any rivalry with fellow tight end commit Benji Gosnell? We ask all of those questions and a whole lot more. Plus, the Big Ten Men’s Basketball Tournament is getting underway on Wednesday and after we get this show posted, we will be making our way to the Circle City of Indianapolis to take in what may be the best B1G Tourney in the history of the event. Can the Buckeyes, coming off of a four-game losing streak, get back on the right path and make a run and get into the weekend?

 BIA Ep. 76 – Grayes Joins The Class; Tackling RB/CB | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:36:43

Ohio State Buckeyes Recruiting got some huge news over the weekend with the commitment of '22 Rivals250 wide receiver Kyion Grayes out of Arizona. It was a huge pick up for the Buckeyes as the team now has pledges from two top wide receivers with Grayes and Caleb Burton. In this edition of the BIA Podcast, Kevin Noon and Joseph Hastings talk about what the Grayes commit means for the team as well as the wide receiver board. Is Ohio State well on its way to become WRU? The commits have been there but over the next couple of years, the on-field results will need to meet that as Ohio State continues to cycle through some top talent at the position. Additionally, we tackle the recruiting positions of RB and CB as each board continues to constantly evolve. All of that and more.

BIA Ep. 75 – CJ Hicks Drops In | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:31:41

We had a special guest drop in for this edition of the BIA Podcast with the nation’s No. 10 overall prospect, linebacker CJ Hicks stopping in to talk about recruiting and a whole lot more. For the Kettering (Ohio) product, Ohio State is something that has been part of his life from day one, but this five-star is making sure that other athletes are well aware of just how special that Ohio State is and is one of the Buckeyes’ best recruiters. What is next for Hicks the recruiter and what is next for Hicks the football player? We pose both of those questions to the talented defensive star. Plus, what does the NCAA decision to extend the dead period mean? It is one thing to look at it as a fan or a reporter, but what does it mean to an athlete that is not allowed to either visit schools that he is interested in or in Hicks’ case, the school that he is committed to? All of that and more as in segment two our Kevin Noon talks about the final few games in the NCAA Basketball regular season as the Buckeyes look to bounce back after a tough loss to TTUN last week. Check it all out.

 BIA Ep. 74 – Down The Stretch | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:29:03

Ohio State Buckeyes Basketball is down to its final four games of the regular season and still has a Big Ten title in its sights after a big win at Penn State. Now Chris Holtmann’s team has three big home games left with Michigan, Iowa and Illinois as well as a road trip to the Breslin Center to take on Michigan State. Does this team have what it takes to navigate that minefield and finish this season on a high and get to the tournament with all of the momentum in the world? We are talking that as well as the unfortunate decision made by the NCAA to extend the recruiting dead period. We go into why that is such a horrible decision and ultimately hurts the recruits more than anyone else.

BIA Ep. 73 – The NFL Draft Is Brewing | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:47:44

The NFL crowned the Tampa Bay Buccaneers champions just a few short days ago and the NFL calendar is already shifting to some incarnation of the scouting combine as well as pro days and the culminating with the NFL Draft at the end of April. As with any other NFL Draft, there will be plenty of Ohio State interest with players like Justin Fields, Wyatt Davis, Shaun Wade and others all looking forward to hearing their names called, be it in-person, virtually or some other manner as the NFL continues to move forward. With so much draft interest around Buckeye Nation, we are bringing in Ryan Roberts, Director of Scouting for NFLDraftBible.com to talk about a handful of Ohio State players who will hear their names called, a couple that opted not to jump into the 2021 draft and a whole lot more. Plus, we are talking about Ohio State’s former head coach, Urban Meyer, who is now the head coach with the Jacksonville Jaguars and is sitting in a powerful position, not only with the No. 1 pick in the upcoming draft, not only a ton of draft picks, but also more than 77-million dollars in cap space.

 BIA Ep. 72 – Recruiting A - To - Z With Joseph Hastings | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:47:07

COLUMBUS, Ohio – National Signing Day 2021 is in the books and the Buckeyes are sitting with the nation’s No. 2 class, but things are not done with one more player sitting out there and Ryan Day’s Buckeyes are in a good spot with a talented lineman out of the Pacific Northwest. In this edition of the BIA Podcast (BuckeyeGrove Instant Access) we talk about the class of 2021, even if Wednesday was a slow day in terms of not signing any players, it was a tremendous cycle with 21 players already in the fold, 15 on campus at this point of the game. Joseph Hastings joins Kevin Noon to talk about the class of 2021 as well as what is ahead for the class of 2022. Is a new Buckeye Bash coming together for this class and why will this one be very different than its predecessor for the class of 2021? How does line recruiting look for the Buckeyes, not only on the defensive side of the ball but on the offense too and why is it too early to start getting worried? Plus, we talk about Ohio State recruiting in general, why are Day and his staff just so good at all of this and is the Ohio State brand one of the most powerful in the nation? All of that and more.

 BIA Ep. 71 - A Bit Of Everything | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:27:43

Plenty to discuss today as we are at that odd intersection of getting ready for "winter conditioning" with the football team, the traditional February signing day and the basketball season is in full-swing. Kevin Noon is talking about all of that in a solo show where we talk about the two major targets left on the Ohio State board, the upcoming QB battle that will be in place with the departure of Justin Fields and of course where the Ohio State men's basketball team stands as we close the month of January.

BIA Ep. 70 - Mattison And NFL Departures; Expand The CFP? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:38:48

Plenty going on as we talk about Greg Mattison's decision to retire and what's next there with the Ohio State coaching staff. Plus NFL decisions are in, how did the Buckeyes fare? Plus, should we expand the CFP field? We talk about that and much more.

BIA Ep. 69 – Buckeyes Making Some Noise | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 00:37:11

Ohio State Buckeyes Basketball is now sitting at 11-3 on the 2020-21 season and ranked in the top-25 but there is a very long way to go for this team with at least 11 more regular season conference games to go in a super-competitive Big Ten Conference. Chris Holtmann’s team is coming off of an impressive road win at Illinois, down a pair of point guards and on the back of a hot shooting afternoon by EJ Liddell as well as some instant offense by Justin Ahrens. What do we see in the future for this team as the grinder of the B1G continues to chew teams up and spit them out? Join Kevin Noon and Marcus Horton as we talk about the season that is already in the book and what is ahead for this Buckeye team.
