It's been a year since Bellamy was born (time flies!)and we went from having 1 kid to 2, so Jesse is joining me today to chat about the past 12 months. It was quite a year full of ups and downs and a lot of growth.
I had an epiphany while hand washing dishes about my life as a stay at home mom and it led to a big change in how I think about self-care. Plus, hear all about the 2 months we lived without a kitchen floor.
Carianna Gibb, owner and baby sleep coach of All The Sleeps, is chatting with me today about sleep training. She shares her knowledge about sleep environments, strategies and the importance of everyone in the family getting some sleep.
Katherine and I talk about our adventures in breastfeeding. Between the two of us, we have five very unique stories about the struggles and joys of breastfeeding. We've dealt with medical emergencies and allergies. It was a roller coaster, but we both did what we felt was best for us and our babies.
I recently read The Gratitude Diaries by Janice Kaplan and it rocked my world! The book is about the author's journey of actively practicing gratitude for a year. She discusses the positive effects that it had on her marriage, health and overall life. While this isn't a parenting book, it has helped me look at how I can practice gratitude day by day as I navigate the frustrations and joys of parenting little ones.
My vacation has come and gone and it was AMAZING! Exactly what this tired Mommy needed! While I was gone, Jesse totally rocked staying at home with the girls. So much so it kinda pissed me off. Then he got a stomach bug, which led to a lot of clarity and a fresh perspective for us both.
Statistics show almost 70% of Millennials regret buying their homes. Katherine and I are both homeowners, so we sat down to talk about whether or not we are in the majority. We also talk about the pains, and benefits, that come with owning a house. Plus, we both have a lot of ideas of what we'd do differently if we were house hunting again.
Crystal of The 91 Rewind and I are tackling internal monologues, believing in yourself and being more positive. We often think about self-care as being an external thing, like manicures and face masks, but it goes so much deeper. Truly caring for yourself means loving yourself and being your own cheerleader.
