NO SPOILERS! Dori and KPolly love "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever." From the stunning visuals, to the fierce fight scenes, to the moving and emotive performances, this film truly has it all. Why you should see it in the theater, how long it took them both to cry, and their favorite characters -- they get into it all this week on Cinebuds.
We didn't love "Mr. Harrigan's Phone," a new teen suspense film based on the Stephen King novel. The movie is streaming now on Netflix, and while it did offer one standout performance (looking at you, Donald Sutherland), it didn't fully compute for our Cinebuds. Dori and KPolly talk it out, plus they share what else they're watching.
Dori and KPolly are all in on "Tár," from the well-crafted and musically driven screenplay, to Cate Blanchett's stunning transformation as Lydia Tár, a troubled and renowned musician falling from EGOT grace.
Filled with hypnotic lights and music, and offering a stunning first-person posthumous narration by Bowie himself, the new documentary 'Moonage Daydream' gave us all the feels. On this episode, host Dori Zori is joined by local artist dwellephant and 88Nine Music Director Erin Wolf, who each loved the film for different reasons.
Disney's new live action and animation hybrid 'Pinocchio' certainly brings the sweet, but is it too sweet? For young kids, probably not, but for our full adult Cinebuds it was a bit much at times. Dori and Kpolly talk about the highlights (the Clocks!), and Dori gets personal never-previously-shared details from her 'Animal Crossing' game.
88Nine Program Director Dori Zori joins the podcast this week as our new permanent co-host alongside KPolly of Milwaukee Film. The new "buds" crew gush over "The Woman King" starring Viola Davis, discussing the historical source material and the power of representation.
Vampires. Homicidal car tires. Village People pseudo-biopics. There are many flavors of bad movies. Kristopher and guest host Dwellephant break down all the different bads a film can be on this episode.
Milwaukee artist and icon Dwellephant joins Kristopher on the pod this week to talk about another celebrated duo: Regina King and Sterling K. Brown, who star in megachurch satire "Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul."
