Japan has one of the lowest crime rates in the world. In a nation with one of the highest populations, it recorded only 440 homicides in 2014 and a conviction rate of an astonishing 99%. However, until 2005, the statute of limitation for murder was only 15 years. Because of this, some murder cases have never been solved which makes them mysteriously listed…. Recent statistics out of the United States show that on average around 2300 people go missing every day. Many of these missing persons are found within days but there are those that continue to baffle investigators years after they disappear. The cases where investigators have no evidence to work with. No one reports seeing them and there is no obvious explanation for their absence. When it comes to phone calls, they are generally pretty easy to find out who is on the other end. Caller ID is something that we now take for granted and phone companies keep track of who is calling whom. Yet the cases we will talk about today involve phone calls that are extremely puzzling and investigators have never traced them back to their origins. There are certain milestones in your life that are life-changing. Getting your first car, your first love and moving away from home and going to college. For parents, nothing can be more worrisome then not knowing what your child is doing and where they are 24/7 for the first time. I know if I couldn’t reach my child, I would assume the worst case scenario. Unfortunately sometimes this is the case though. Unsolved mass murders aren’t all that common because most of the time either the perpetrator either suicides or is caught soon after. And an unsolved mass murder of a whole family, even rarer. One thing is for certain, the cases we will talk about today enraged entire communities and put immense pressure on law enforcement to bring the killer or killers to justice.
