This week we welcome back our first set of Test Your Fright contestants as they race, neck and neck, into the final film of this round. Three people who don't do well with gore vs Art the Clown. Will a victor emerge? Or will Art show them all that they can't quite hack it?
The other day a little birdy landed on our shoulder and told us we still hadn't gotten to any Hitchcock, then it called its friends and stared menacingly til we gave in. Join us as we fly through this classic film form the Master of Suspense!
We did it! Episode 100! What better way to celebrate than to put three of our friends through an increasingly extreme gauntlet of movies? Will they make it through DEAD ALIVE and HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES? Pt 2 and the conclusion of this round of the contest coming in two weeks!
Ho Ho Ho! The holidays are traditionally a time of gathering for family and friends. Well it is no different here, as we invite our guest "Donkey D" into the studio to talk about one of the original Slasher flicks, BLACK CHRISTMAS.
The pressure to provide is so strong, especially when you run a cottage 'killer-for-hire-' business with your wife in a system that is set up against you. Join the Squirms as we follow one man's bloody transformation from traumatized layabout to champion of a community.
“Breaker 1-9, this is Squirmy T and Fried D, now we were leavin’ the choke and puke and had somethin unexpected come up on our back door. Looked like it had been there since 2001. This bear bait came on like some CB Rambo, we had it out, but what he was asking about stuck with me. Y’all know a Candy Cane?”
After having been blown away by BASKIN, the boys decide to check out the sophmore outing from director CAN EVRENOL. They never expected to have such horrifyingly sexy times under his umbrella.....
Candyman, Captain Spaulding, Pluto, Jason, Leatherface...Tried and true horror icons that we've grown up with. This week the Fried Squirms look at the movie that happens when you get all those actors and more in the same space, and the results aren't what you would expect.
Summer in the 80s. A time for friendship, a time for adventure, and a time for child disappearances. As a group of friends dig into solving the mystery, Danny and Tyler dig even deeper into what they thought of this surprisingly dark little gem. BONUS: Danny and Tyler went to the movies. Did the reimagining of Suspiria place its spell on them?
What's black and white and red all over? Art the Clown by the end of this bloody little slasher. The power of memes won over and the boys finally had to look into this killer clown movie. They weren't expecting to find a slasher homage that should delight even serious gore-hounds. Nor were they expecting the new clown on the block to be such a serious threat...
HAPPY HALLOWEEN! After Trick "r" Treating with you all last year, the boys have been counting down the minutes til they could give you the "o" this year. Featuring appearances from Gene Simmons and Ozzy Osbourne, this movie has more metal than the razorblades in your candy! A cult classic for sure, but what did the boys think? BONUS: A new HALLOWEEN just came out. The boys saw it. Stick around til the end.
Color and Sound. Two things that the average movie-goer takes for granted in their viewing experience, especially in this modern-age. This week the Fried Squirms take in Dario Argento's classic SUSPIRIA and experience just how terrifying these two elements can be in the hands of a master. BONUS! Stick around after the Suspiria talk to hear what the boys thought of MANDY.
The Hills are alive...with the sound of slaughter! Tyler and Danny decided they needed to make a return to the hills and see just how well Papa Jupiter and the gang have come along in all these years. They've ramped up the violence, and their own deformities, but how does this remake stack up against the OG?
Hallucinogens, magic poisons. being buried alive..there's nothing quite like the wonders of Haiti. This week the Fried Squirms put on their amateur anthropology hats and take a Tonton Macoute guided tour through this impressive zombie thriller, and try their best to understand just what makes a person into a zombie in the first place.
The Squirms this week decided to blow some smoke across a fire opal and ask for some stuff. A monster movie directly post-SCREAM that takes itself seriously? check. Electric, scenery-chewing antagonist? check. Surprising amounts of gore? check. But in the end, was it worth it?
