Robert Hockett joins us on Present Value this month! Hockett is the Edward Cornell Law Professor at Cornell Law School, a Fellow at The Century Foundation, and Senior Counsel for Westwood Capital. Our guest this month is Tom Gilovich, Irene Blecker Rosenfeld Professor of Psychology at Cornell University. Professor Gilovich has published seminal work in the fields of behavioral economics and social psychology. We discuss a wide range of his research and interests including his new paper about sudden-death aversion, the spotlight effect, material vs. experiential consumption, and the important role both Barry Manilow and Vanilla Ice have played in his research.
Our guest this month is Risa M. Mish, Professor of the Practice of Management at the SC Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University. Professor Mish discusses her childhood ambitions of becoming a rabbi, her experiences as a young woman in New York City practicing labor and employment law, and sexual harassment in the workplace.
