This is a tune that came to me many years ago via the crucible of bad behavior. Much like a promise of hope when all seemed hopeless.
Originally posted Sunday, January 21, 2007 This is semi autobiographical, in as much as an instrumental can be considered self referential. Regardless of my intention, this tune seems to tell a story.
Original Post: Wednesday, February 7, 2007 Remixed 2014 This song is absolutely relentless. What starts out as a nice little ska song lasts a few bars, turns rather latin, and cops an attitude. This one definitely took on a life of it’s own. To learn more about the culture and inspiration, click the Wikipedia link below. Pachuco
Original post: Saturday, March 31, 2007 This is a sweet one. I figured I’d post it rather than run the risk of messing it up by tweaking it too much. I asked Penny what the name was and here it is. She’s the one who’s good with words. As is my usual method, this tune was produced in Apple’s garageband using many loops, software instruments and live guitars. Don’t forget the mixing. Enjoy!
A remix...
Originally aired Thursday, September 1, 2011 An old tune my friend Louis Koleszar and I used to play. Here revisited, revised, revitalized, and retitled, by my wife, “Hungry for You”.
Originally aired Sunday, September 20, 2009 Word association football. Sqeek came to mind and the rest followed...
A challenge from James. Originally aired some time ago!
Originally posted Saturday, November 17, 2007 This one has been gathering dust for some time. It actually predates “the More Things Change”, but I was waiting for lyrics that have not, as of yet, materialized. The title is a gift from my buddy O’syryous who gifted me some sounds in a package called “steaming piles of lemon curry”. The usual methods were employed in the making of these sound vibrations. Enjoy!
Original Post: Sunday, January 21, 2007 Please consider for a moment the feeling a song gives you. Regardless of the style, there’s always a feeling. That’s what this one’s got. What else I don’t know. For one, who really is Yuki anyway? This one I made with Apple’s garage band. Some loops, some live instruments, and a mix or six.
This tune was a sweaty brainchild born of Blacksploitation movies like “Shaft” and my love for ’70’s era thrillers. Originally posted Sunday, January 21, 2007 Okay, picture this. If the Mission Impossible movies had featured Richard Roundtree’s character, Shaft, instead of that hack, Tom Cruise, and had taken place in Istanbul, the sound track might have sounded something like this.
