Then we discuss the state of Latin Cinema with the upcoming dossier edited by Cesar that drops with the latest issue of the journal. Then we figure out who impressed us the most this year, as we each identify the film talent that really announced themselves in 2018. We end as always on our recommendations, and for those who have signed up to our Patreon account, we're looking at the people we lost in 2018 whose passing made the film world a little less bright.

And then, leading into a tremendous season at the Melbourne Cinemateque, we talk about the career of Ida Lupino, and discuss some of her greatest films, including The Hitch-Hiker, The Bigamist and Outrage.
