 DM 046 - Good Limitations | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 31:33

Your whole life is an ongoing unfolding of who you were made to be. Oftentimes, the goals we want to achieve and the places we want to go require us to change how we think and act. We all have challenges and limitations that stand in our way during this journey, and many of these can be stripped away with practice. But some limitations are built into who we are - they are meant to be embraced, not rejected. When we have a longing for growth and change, sometimes we have to take a step back and realize that who we are is already enough. This journey is about becoming the best and most effective version of who God made you.   Episode show notes   Do you have a question, a future topic, or an awesome story you would like me to hear?  DM 044 - The Art of Fierce Conversations | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 38:35

I have yet to meet a person or leader who wouldn't immediately benefit from having the fierce conversation that they have been avoiding. Most relationships and organizations live or die on their ability to regularly have healthy and/or tough conversations. These conversations are not easy and can be scary, but if done well they can heal, mend or even transform relationships and organizations. Here are a few tips I give my clients.  DM 043 - Dream. Learn. Do. Repeat. | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 23:40

We all have ideas about what we want for our future. When we talk about dreams, it is easy to picture our ideal results, but it is much harder to value the process. Taking the first step can seem absolutely paralyzing. Today we’re talking about an analogy that can help transform goals into action. Ready, aim, fire. Or as I like to say: dream, learn, do. If we can identify where we are getting stuck in this process, we can silence the fear of failure and take the first step.   Episode show notes Do you have a question, a future topic, or an awesome story you would like me to hear?  DM 039 - The Power of Yet | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 34:12

Why does it sometimes seem impossible to make changes and move forward? Maybe the biggest roadblock is not found in the world around you, but in the world inside of you. Our assumptions and beliefs shape the way we see our lives, and not always for the better. I am here to tell you that just because life has always been like that, doesn’t mean it always will be like that. There is one word that has the power to infuse your life with hope and change the way you think.   Episode show notes   Want the notes from this episode? Email me at drew@drewmcclure.tv    Do you have a question, a future topic, or an awesome story you would like me to hear?  DM 037 - When The Waters Recede | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 36:17

The title of this episode is a metaphor for seasons that we will all walk through. In these seasons of struggle and transformation, we often feel broken, exposed, and drained. Our instinct is to turn away and hold our breath as we wait for something to change for the better. But what would happen if we really pressed in during these times? We could build a stronger foundation, discover unexpected treasure, and dig deeper into who we are.    Do you have a question, a future topic, or an awesome story you would like me to hear?  DM 035 - How Did I Get Here? How Do I Get There? | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 29:40

Today is not about why but instead about what and how. I want to take something that feels mysterious and make it simple.    Mysterious things happen around us and to us, all the time but who we have become and where we’ve ended is not a mystery.  Every day we travel down familiar roads. We take the same turns at each intersection and then consequently find ourselves in the same places. So what would it be like and where could you go if you simply started making different turns? Different reactions, different decisions, different attitudes, and mindsets. Let’s explore this for a minute. After Episode Exercise: 1) Describe where you are 2) Now ask what roads lead there 3) Describe where you want to go 4) Now ask what roads might lead there   Do you have a question, a future topic, or an awesome story you would like me to hear?  DM 033 - A Little Less Anxious | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 49:12

Do you ever feel like a duck who is calm on the surface of the water but beneath the legs are churning like crazy? Welcome to most of my life. Sometimes the churning was intense and other times it was just a subtle annoying disturbance in the background of my life. Either way, it sucked and it has been a serious journey to become a less anxious and more peaceful person. But in order to do that, I had to stop wishing and waiting for peace and instead actually listen to and learn about peace.  In a book of the Bible, Proverbs, the writer personified Wisdom as a "woman crying out loud in the streets" to anyone who would listen. The assertion was that you could have "wisdom" and be a "wise person" if you would listen and respond to the things Wisdom was saying. I think of having peace the same way. I believe we can "have peace" and be a "peaceful person" if we are willing to respond to what Peace requires. We all wish for internal peace and even ask God for peace but have we ever stopped to listen to what Peace may be asking of us? In my experience, peace can usually be found when I either confront what I have been avoiding or finally embrace what I have been resisting. After doing those things I notice that Peace seems to be a regular guest in my home. Enough with all the metaphor? What in the world am I talking about?  DM 032 - Finding Your Way While Finding Yourself with Jordan Mitchell | File Type: audio/mpeg | Duration: 01:19:31

My friend Jordan has had an eclectic career life. He has done everything from helping start a wakeboarding instruction company, to managing a fast food restaurant, to working for a church, to being a corporate recruiter to now being a highly valued coach/consultant for executives. To me though what is crazier than his career path is how his journey through it all has shaped him into a profound person, husband, friend, and professional. Jordan has gone on his "hero's journey' if you will. If you have ever had a hard time figuring out where you fit or who you really are then this episode is for you!      Do you have a question, a future topic, or an awesome story you would like me to hear?
